Course overview
Study online whenever it suits you. The course is built for care workers, healthcare assistants, support workers and managers who need a clear knowledge path before workplace sign-off. Access works on common browsers on desktop, tablet and phone.
What you study
Short modules for each of the 16 standards, with plain-English explanations, workplace examples and knowledge checks. Topics include person-centred values, communication, privacy and dignity, fluids and nutrition, safeguarding, infection prevention, health and safety, handling information, and awareness of mental health, dementia, learning disability and autism. Basic life support is covered as knowledge awareness; practical CPR competence is arranged by your employer where required.
Assessment and certificate
Finish with a multiple-choice quiz. Pass mark 70%. Free retakes during your access period. Pass and you can download a Care School PDF training certificate. That certificate shows you completed our knowledge training. It is not the full Care Certificate award.
Study time and access
Plan for around 12 to 20 hours depending on your pace and experience. Access is intended for 12 months from enrolment so you can revisit modules before observation.
For individuals and employers
Individuals enrol themselves and pay £14.99. Employers can buy multiple seats and allocate learners. Bulk pricing notes are on /pricing/. Managers remain responsible for workplace observation, evidence and final sign-off.
What happens after you pass
Download your certificate, complete any workplace workbook your employer uses, and book observation time with a competent assessor. Keep records ready for supervision and inspection evidence.
Frequently asked questions
Will this alone give me the Care Certificate?
No. Knowledge plus workplace assessment are both required.
Do you include Standard 16?
Yes. The knowledge content covers all 16 standards, including learning disability and autism awareness.
